Its being so troublesome of getting Manchaster United football team to play in Malaysia. There is an objection from the Asian Football Association and FIFA generally.. It sucks man.. We are here to watch them play in our grass..What is your opinion??

PETALING JAYA, May 15 (Bernama) — The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) should view Manchester United’s visit to this country from a positive angle though it may draw pressure on them.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said this after launching the Second Inter-Factory Futsal Championship in Subang Jaya Tuesday.

“The programme to bring Manchester United is part of the government’s promotional efforts in conjunction with the country’s 50th year of independence and Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

“The programme is also to encourage more tourists to visit Malaysia. It’s also a treat for Malaysian football fans,” he told reporters.

Yesterday, FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said the country’s football governing body was ready to go ahead with the planned visit of the English Premier League champions.

However, the FAM could be facing consequences from the Asian and World football governing bodies as a result, he said.

The Asian Football Confederation had earlier urged the FAM to cancel a friendly match with Manchester United scheduled for July 27 during the team’s trip to Asia.

This was because the trip would clash with the Asian Cup hosted by Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand from July 9 to 29.

The Inter-Factory Futsal Championship is expected to involve about 100 teams. The matches will be held at three venues, namely in Subang Jaya, Johor Baharu and Penang.
